ComplyAuto Export Services provides independent pre-export vehicle inspections supporting international vehicle-export compliance. We're building a network of experienced automotive professionals who perform those inspections as independent contractors — assignment by assignment, in their own service area.
We recruit experienced inspection professionals — there is no lengthy automotive training course to complete. A short ComplyAuto orientation covers how our platform and evidence standards work. This is independent contractor work, not employment: no guaranteed assignments or income.
How It Works
Who We're Looking For
Independent Automotive Inspectors
You already do pre-purchase or condition inspections and know your way around a multi-point checklist.
Certified Mechanics & ASE Technicians
ASE or equivalent credentials and hands-on experience evaluating mechanical and structural condition.
Auction & Remarketing Inspectors
Experience with auction condition reports, fleet inspections, or appraisal-style vehicle assessments.
Qualified Mobile Inspectors
You go to the vehicle — at a dealer lot, an auction, or a private seller's driveway.
What You'll Need
Equipment
A smartphone with a working camera
Required — this is how you capture and submit evidence
An OBD-II diagnostic scanner
Required for most vehicle categories
Reliable internet access
To upload photos, video, and your checklist same-day
Your own transportation
To reach vehicles within your stated service area
Documentation
- Government-issued ID
- Any relevant certifications or licenses (ASE, state inspector license, etc.) — if you have them
- Proof of business liability insurance, where applicable to your market
- Signed independent contractor agreement (provided during onboarding)

You set the ZIP codes, regions, and maximum travel distance you're willing to cover in your application; assignments are matched to your stated territory and vehicle types, never sent outside it.
Assignment Process
You see the offer
An assignment appears with vehicle type, general area, and full compensation — before you do anything else.
You decide
Accept or decline. There's no penalty for declining an assignment that doesn't work for your schedule or location.
It's locked in
Once you accept, your compensation is locked — later rate changes never affect an assignment you've already accepted.
You do the inspection
Meet the vehicle, complete the checklist, capture photos/video, and submit through the mobile-friendly inspector console.
Compensation Process
- Every assignment shows the full breakdown before you accept: inspection fee, travel/mileage, and any expedited or additional fees.
- You never see the customer's price or ComplyAuto's margin — only what you're paid.
- Once an assignment is approved through quality control, a payment record is created automatically.
- ComplyAuto currently pays inspectors outside the platform (check, ACH, etc.) after QC approval — your Inspector Portal always shows the current status of what you're owed and what's been paid.
Inspector Standards
- Photograph and document exactly what you observe — never what you assume or what a customer tells you.
- Follow the evidence checklist for each vehicle category (VIN, odometer, exterior, interior, title documents, and a full walk-around video).
- Report discrepancies — a mismatched VIN, an odometer that doesn't match paperwork, or damage inconsistent with the stated condition — through the exception process rather than deciding on your own how to handle it.
- Maintain your own professional conduct standards with customers and sellers; you represent ComplyAuto in the field.
